Review by Jake Thomas

I hesitated not going to this show even though I had bought a ticket in advance, as I was dead tired from spending the entire day at Toxic Beach working on the Guerilla Fest. I’m glad I changed my mind and went at the last minute though, as they put on a pretty good and succinct show, just what the doctor ordered (note: no doctors were harmed in the writing of this review). Their set was probably only about an hour long, with no frills and fluff. There was very little banter with the crowd, choosing instead to play samples of David Cross and others eschewing the current administration and their policies. They played almost the entirety of their new album 'Two Conversations', with a few older tracks thrown in here and there. They sounded great; very tight and well oiled from their current tour, and the kids that showed up on this Sunday night were lapping it up. Their new album has a damn good chance of making my top 10 list at the end of the year, so check them out if you have hankering catchy, morose pop from a band who were their Cure influence on their sleeves.
