Dressy Bessy / Orange Peels

Review by Squid

Dressy Bessy were last seen rocking twee booty during the Kindercore showcase at SXSW. Squid caught a lot more of the girl-group references people usually assign to DB this time around. Definitely some Ronnie Spector vocal flourishes in there, to be sure.

The Dazmeister was very excited to see The Orange Peels again, especially since their last show was one of her highlights of NoisePop. They delighted her once again with bubbly, almost surf-style melodies from their new album, "So Far". Songs like 'Back in San Francisco' and 'Mazatlan' (with what Squid thought was a nod to the Style Council's 'Ever Changing Moods')bounced off the walls like happy summer beachballs. The should be called Orange Soda! Yum!
