Le Tigre

Review by Janet Flemer

I'd heard Le Tigre on the radio and thought seeing them would be fun. I didn't know the place would be full of people half my age, some of them apparently drunk for the first time, and under the false impression that it would be fun to try and freak out the old folks. Kathleen Hanna whined about her playsuit needing a belt and lectured us about child abuse. They did a song called "What's Yr Take on Cassavetes" which I thought would be funny (my take would be annoying and overrated, hmmm) which appeared to be set to the tune of "Macarena".*

About ten years ago I saw Bikini Kill and remember being impressed but hey that was ten years ago after all. The fans Kathleen Hanna has picked up since those days are different, shall we say. And they hardly played any instruments at all!
