Ex-Boyfriends formed in the spring of 2003 when guitarist/vocalist Colin Daly and drummer Chris Ohnesorge decided to get together and kick their post-band breakup blues by trying out a new musical project. Although their chemistry was instantaneous, they quickly recruited bassist Peter Harb to complete the tried-and-true power trio model. Not surprisingly, the music that came out of practice space 69 was more vibrant and electric than anything any one of them had written before. The songs automatically came built-in with three part harmonies, hook-laden guitars, fluid bass lines and punchy, danceable beats. Armed with a truckload of stick-in-your-head songs and the need for you to dance at their shows, Colin, Peter and Chris are already on their way to becoming everyone's favorite Ex-Boyfriends.
Morning Spy is a San Francisco-based indie pop band invested in electric guitar textures and fuzzy, yet intricate songwriting. The band was formed as a recording project by Mark Loftin and Jon Rooney over the summer of 2001. Allison Goffman quickly came on board and, after several local shows, guitarist James Spadaro joined the band in the summer of 2003. Morning Spy's debut full-length 'Subsequent Light', was released in January 2004. 'Subsequent Light' was engineered by Bart Thurber (the Decibels) and Aaron Estes (Nik Freitas) and mastered by Myles Boisen (Rova Sax Quartet) over the span of three seperate sessions in Oakland and Visalia, California. The _Two Horses_ EP, set for release by KEEP Recordings on June 29th, was recorded by the band and features their further exploration of dreamy, reverb-drenched introversion, occasional bombast, and thoughtful chamber pop.
