If you're a regular visitor of this site then you probably already know that Film School is one of our most favorite local bands; having played our very first PiF Presents show back in early 2002, they are very dear to our hearts. We've really enjoyed watching them grow into one of SF's most loved local bands.

Earlier this year while on tour, FS's van and equipment were stolen. No one deserves to have their stuff stolen, specially not this band who has worked so hard over the years to get to where they are today.

Below is Film School's story as it unfolded....

3/8/06: As many of you have already heard, our van, the 2003 Ford Econoline we bought two days before we left for tour, was stolen with all our equipment in Philadelphia. Our van was parked in a well-lit, 24-hour attendant secured lot with a club on the steering wheel. Even though we did everything we could to keep this van safe and secured, the thieves sawed through the club, hotwired the van and drove it through the parking lot checkout fence. Pretty unbelievable. Unfortunately our van insurance does not cover theft and while some of our insurance might cover some of the gear, it will most likely be minimal.

6:30 pst 3/9/06 update: The Philadelphia police department found our van with all the gear gone. We haven't seen it yet, but we understand that the steering wheel was cut in half to take the club off, the ignition broken to start with a screwdriver and locks broken. Some new dents as well, but we haven't seen it yet. But of course all our favorite instruments, amps and pedals are gone so it's not great. Thanks to everyone who has been getting the word out, especially Pitchfork, The Metro in Philadelphia and The Philadelphia Inquirer. Anyone in those regions please continue to pass the word about the equipment, we're very appreciative of all your support.
